Our Story

In the midst of laughter, shared stories, and the occasional romantic misadventure, we came to realise the dating scene was at risk of losing heart. Enter events hot-shot James and marketing guru Ricardo who, equipped with both life and professional experience, a passion for hospitality, and no shortage of single friends eager for them to succeed, set about planning feel-good events to connect London's single community in a fun and authentic way. Not satisfied with just ‘off the shelf’ singles nights, the guys introduced additional profile questions at sign-up which inform decision-making at It’s a Date events HQ; organising bespoke events curated to align with your hobbies and interests; something that we like to call It’s a Date By Invitation.

And there you have it, two guys on a mission to rejuvenate your dating experience.

Social Impact

Here at It’s a Date, we’re people people: cheerleaders for connecting others, aiding introductions, and nurturing our community. We have heaps of fun doing this directly with guests at our events hosted in London, while simultaneously supporting our charity partner Re-engage with their invaluable and life-changing activities across the UK. Re-engage are an inspirational charity providing life-enhancing connections and companionship for older people at a time in their lives when social circles are diminishing. Through initiatives such as activity groups, tea parties, call companions, and engagement specifically designed to support the LGBT+ community, Re-engage provide a lifeline to older people who are vulnerable to or already experiencing the cruel effects of loneliness or isolation. For every It’s a Date event ticket sold, we will donate 50p to help Re-engage make life less lonely for thousands of older people every year.
