Introduction

Personal experience and our single friends have taught us that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to finding love. It’s why we set to work redesigning dating events, creating opportunities for you to express yourself authentically and meet like-minded singles.

Picture this: you’re in a fabulous venue mingling amongst people who had just the same thought as you. Cue our vivacious hosts for the night, trained to help you ditch your inhibitions, and you’ve just turbocharged your chances of meeting ‘the one’.

Our mission is simple: bring people together through a refreshing mix of social events designed to rejuvenate the dating experience.

Our Story

In the midst of laughter, the occasional romantic misadventure, and way too many stories ending with "and they didn’t look anything like their profile picture..." we realised the dating scene was losing its heart.

Strong-armed by our single friends eagerly 'cheerleading' us on from the sidelines, we got to work. With Ricardo’s marketing magic, my event-planning expertise, and a shared love of connecting people (plus a healthy dose of hospitality and life experience) — our little London-based dating events business, It's a Date, was born.

Through lots of trial and error, a deep focus on what our guests wanted, and a drive to be the best, we shaped a variety of fun, friendly, and feel-good networking events designed to connect London's single community in style… and, more importantly, in person!

We fast-forwarded from just three to thirty events per month as we quickly grew. Our success was fueled by that of our guests — countless matches, relationships, newfound friendships, and renewed confidence. We knew the format worked. So, in the autumn of 2025, we set our sights on spreading the matchmaking magic to Manchester

And that’s how we (Ricardo, me, and our amazing team of hosts) are putting the heart back into the UK dating scene—one city at a time.

Social Impact

Here at It’s a Date, we’re people people: cheerleaders for connecting others, aiding introductions, and nurturing our community. We have heaps of fun doing this directly with guests at our events hosted in London, while simultaneously supporting our charity partner Re-engage with their invaluable and life-changing activities across the UK. Re-engage are an inspirational charity providing life-enhancing connections and companionship for older people at a time in their lives when social circles are diminishing. Through initiatives such as activity groups, tea parties, call companions, and engagement specifically designed to support the LGBT+ community, Re-engage provide a lifeline to older people who are vulnerable to or already experiencing the cruel effects of loneliness or isolation. For every It’s a Date event ticket sold, we will donate 50p to help Re-engage make life less lonely for thousands of older people every year.
